Each time I re-check this family forum I am taken in by the seemingly coincidental title of your query. My own query (message # 1256) is quite similar in that I too have a William McIntyre (John William) who married an Irish lass whose surname was Stevenson; mine was Jenny and yours Martha. Could it be that your Martha was called Jenny or that our collective Stevensons were cousins? Yours went from Ireland to Scotland. Mine supposedly from Scotland to Ireland to America. My story is of my family's oral tradition. Could it be that some of mine is in error or has been embellished for the sake of romaticism? Is it possible that mine and yours are somehow related?
I am very much interested in where in Ireland yours have originated and where they settled in Scotland. Also am interested in your Stevenson family of Ireland, year of migration to Scotland, siblings of your Martha and her parents, etc.
