Carol:
The surnames associated with your McInteer family all appear in Barren Co, KY in the early 1800s. Dales & Huffmans were early settlers of the Little Barren River area of what is now Metcalfe Co. At least 3 members of the McInteer family of Stafford Co VA moved to Barren Co KY in the 1810s:
William McInteer (b. 1786) and wife Ada Harding;
Milly McInteer (Wm's sister, b. 1798) and husband Joseph Read;
Winifred McInteer (b. 1766) and husband Cuthbert Harding (Winifred was the aunt of the other two McInteers)

There is a fairly thorough lineage for this family on Ancestry World Tree, database "27390" (the author not listed. This lineage lists a Henry S. McInteer b. 1793 in Stafford Co VA, brother of William and Milly, which is close to your Harrison/Henry McInteer. These people all spelled their name McInteer.

Your McInteers may never have lived in Barren Co, but the Dale and Huffman family names suggest there might be a connection.
Natalie
