Joseph McIntire b. 1808 KY, d. 1873 Barry, Pike Co IL, m. March 17, 1835 Pike Co IL to Joyce "Joicy" Gates b. 1816 TN, d. ca1884 Barry, Pike Co IL, dau of Valentine Gates.
Joseph and Joyce in the 1850 & 1860 Pike Co IL Census. She and a dau Joicy are listed in 1880 Pike Co IL Census in the home of son William McIntyre and his family. Joseph and Joyce had these children: Wm b. 1836, James b. Nov 19, 1839, d. 1866 buried Old Barry Cemetery Pike Co IL, Martha Jane b. 1842 MO, m. Michael(Mitchell) S. Faris(Farris), Joyce"Joicy" b. 1854.
William m.in 1861 to Diana W. Hart b. 1840 IL. Their children: Lillis H. b. 1864, possibly m. a Chamberlain and Herbert E. b. ca1869, d. May 3, 1870 buried at Barry Cemetery Pike Co IL. William said to have changed his name to McIntyre, is listed in Pike Co IL history. Does anyone have more info on this group of McIntire's? I have more on the Gates line. Thanks!! Any help is appreciated.
