William McIntyre (McIntire) was born in March 1837 in Perry County Kentucky. He was the 1 of 4 sons and 4 daughters of Benjamin and Sally McIntyre (McIntire). William married Diannah Combs in 1859 and together they had 8 children, Armelda, Richmond, Arminda, Lucinda, Alexander, Green, Susanna born ca 1877(Susan or Susanne who married twice, one of her husband's was named Levi Whitaker), and their youngest was Benjamin. The family last resided at the mouth of Rockhouse Creek in Letcher County KY. William died October 31, 1911. Both William and Dianna are buried at the Stuart Robinson School Cemetery on Kentucky HWY 7 in Blackey, Kentucky (Letcher County). His grave is marked with a Confederate stone ordered and set by the Col. Ben E. Caudill Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans.
