Jonathon, I also have been looking for the scottish link. My guess was his name was Ebenezer because this name has come down my line on 3 occasions. 1714, 1746, 1836. Sources I have tried have fell empty, one genealogist suggested British Archives because they kept good records on their prisoners. please keep me informed if you have any luck
