There was a Charlie McIntire and Mary Jane Andrews McIntire born in 1840s in NY, came to Nemo, Somervell Co, TX, where they raised their family and died. He died 1906 and she died 1900. I found all this information on the internet.
One of their sons, Charlie McIntire is the object of my interest. He was born in 1877 and died in 1917 at Georges Creek, Somervell Co, TX. I would be interested to know if he was in OK in the early 1900s.
My grandparents were a Charlie McIntire and Mary Barnes. In the year of 1908 thay had a baby named Evelyn. I don't know if Mary was born in TX or OK, nor do I know if Evelyn was born in TX or OK. I only know that they all wound up in either Pontotoc or Coal Co, OK, near the small town of Lula.
Charles went back to TX to look for work and disappeared. Mary died shortly thereafter, and neighbors took the baby; Evelyn, my mother, and raised her. She went to school under the name of Evelyn Barber but she was never adopted.
She never knew anything about her family and I am trying to locate someone who has some clue, no matter how small, as to who they were. If you have such a clue, please e-mail me. I would be very grateful.
