Searching for descendants of Soloman H. and Callie Sarah Jane Johnson McIntire (1874 - 1934). Callie is buried in the Stockdale Cemetery, Stockdale, Texas. Callie's mother, father and several siblings are buried in the Concrete Cemetery near La Vernia, Texas. When Callie's father passed away in 1929, the obit stated that he was buried next to his wife and four children. The only grave that is marked is J.T. Johnson (1846-1929). Would like to get the names of Callie's siblings interred in the Concrete Cemetery as the association would like to mark these graves. One of Callie's sisters was Annie Johnson who died at the age of 24 when she was struck by lightning. Callie's obit was in the Floresville Chronicle-Journal December 7, 1934. As follows: MRS. Soloman H. McINTIRE PASSED AWAY MONDAY NIGHT; BURIED AT STOCKDALE Mrs. Callie Sarah Jane McIntire, wife of Soloman H. McIntire (1867-1951), died Monday, December 3, 1934, at 11:30 p.m., at her home a few miles east of Floresville. She had been ill for about two years. Funeral services were held at the home of A. B. Murray in Floresville Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. J.T. Howard, Pastor of the Floresville Baptist Church, officiating. The remains were then taken to Stockdale for interment and the religious service was concluded at the grave. Deceased was born in Choctaw County, Mississippi on December 6, 1874. At the time of her death she had reached the age of 59 years, 11 months and 27 days. Her father was John T. Johnson and her mother was formerly Miss Martha Reid, both natives of Mississippi. She came to this county with her parents in 1888 and they resided at La Vernia for a number of years. She also lived in other parts of the county. On January 25, 1902, she was married to Soloman H. McIntire at Sutherland Springs. Five children were born to this union, three having preceded their mother in death. Mrs. McIntire had long been a Christian and while not a regular church attendant in late years, she loved her religion and made the influence of her splendid character felt by all with whom she came in contact. Surviving are her husband and two sons, Fred McIntire, a student of A. & I. College, Kingsville, and Morgan McIntire of Roswell, New Mexico; a brother, S. C. Johnson, Fort Stockton, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Jim (Laura Etta) Murray of Floresville, and Mrs. A. V. Rammage, Taft, California. The many friends of the family join the Chronicle-Journal in expressions of deepest sympathy to those whose hearts are heavy with sorrow in the passing of this loved one.
