Hi,

I believe that we may be researching the same genealogical line. I believe that Elizabeth may have been a cousin to my James McIntire (McIntyre). I haven't connected the families entirely, but I believe they descend from Michael & Ann McIntire. Michael was born about 1748 and his wife about 1745. They appear to be in Wilmington, DE most (if not all) of their lives. I believe that they had four sons and 1 daughter. And I believe that Thomas married to Emeline, was one of Michael & Ann's sons. My branch of the family would have been another son. It may have been Michael Jr or Christopher. My James was a son to Christopher and Eunice McIntire.
Michael and Ann had one daughter, also Ann. Ann, the mother, died in October of 1813 and is buried in the Asbury Methodist Churchyard in Wilmington.
Michael fought in the Revolutionary war. (Fall of 1877) His son(s) fought in the War of 1812.
Records for this time period are almost non-existent. I've spent several years researching this family and have found almost nothing concrete.
They lived during a very rough time in Wilmington. I believe I read that many of Wilmington's records were burned by the English soldiers during British occupation throughout the Revolutionary Period. There was also several yellow fever epidemics between 1795-1802. The McIntires owned lots in what is now downtown Wilmington. This may have affected the McIntire Family with their proximity to the wharfs.

I would love to have someone to collaborate with on these ancestors. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that eventually I'll come across a bible record that is still in existence, that will confirm the names of Michael & Ann's children, from what I've been able to glean from sparse census and court records.

Incidently, my great, great grandmother was named Eunice Emeline McIntyre. Eunice was for her grandmother, but I'm guessing, she may have also been named after Thomas' wife, who I believe to be the uncle and aunt, of her grandfather Christopher.
