Better late than never.
Samuel McIntire (III) was a descendant of Philip McIntire, an Argyll Highlander captured at the Battle of Dunbar in 1650 and transported to the New England colony as a prisoner.
Samuel was born Dec. 9, 1811 in Davers, MA, and died Jan. 28, 1868 in Salem, MA. Susan H. Kidder was his second wife. Susan had been born to Stephen and Mary (Foster) Kidder about July 11, 1814 in Boston. She died in Medford, MA, on July 29, 1888, having outlived Samuel by 20 years. He was an early insurance agent.
There is no record of any children in my source: "The Descendants of Philip McIntire," (revised edition), Robert Harry McIntire, Gateway Press, Inc., Baltimore, MD, 1982.
