My mother recently died at the age of 87. She was the last of six siblings, born from 1913 to 1927, all with the surname of McIntire. Their father, John McIntire, was born in the Charlottesville, VA, area. His father (first name unknown, but perhaps John, born in the 1860s) had one known sibling, a brother (my great-great uncle). This individual, Paul Goodloe McIntire, born in 1860, was well-known in Charlottesville. A major road and the largest park in the city are named after him; he also donated land for several other parks in the city. His most noteworthy accomplishment was the endowment in circa 1920 of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. I have been able to ascertain that Paul McIntire's father was George Malcolm McIntire (making him my great-great-grandfather), and that George McIntire married Catherine Clark, daughter of William Clark (of Lewis and Clark fame), and niece of George Rogers Clark, the Revolutionary War hero. George and Catherine were presumably born between 1820-1830. I've been unable to find anymore. My mother and her siblings were orphaned in the early days of the Great Depression and family history was therefore not preserved well. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks.
