Ms. Smith,

Do you have a listing of the children of Stokes McIntire of Anson County, NC?

I just recently found out that one of my 3rd great uncles William Henry Beachum (c. 1840-1862) was married to a McIntire lady, but I do not know her first name, or anything about her.

Since William H. Beachum was killed in the War Between the States at about the age of 22, I had always presumed that he died unmarried. However, I just found a family chart that a cousin of mine made which said that he married ____ McIntire, and they had a son, W. Henry Beachum, Jr.

William H. Beachum was a son of Hugh A. Beachum (1806-1861) and his wife Zillie O'Neal (1812-1882). Their children were: Jeremiah Washington Beachum (1830-1910, my great great grandfather), Joseph J. Beachum (c. 1833-1863), Harriett Jane Beachum. Mrs. J. B. Dease (1834-1870s), James Thomas Beachum (1837-1907), William H. Beachum (c.1840-1862), and Daniel K. Beachum (1847-1923).

I woudl be msot intersted to learn anything you coudl tell me about the McIntire family, and their connection to the Beachums.

Best Regards,

John Field Pankow
