I'm not sure if this is the same James and Joshua McEntire's, but I have information that Jasper Daniel McEntire I, born abt. 1812 in Cartersville, Cass County, Georgia and died about 1866 was married to "Sarah", last name unknown and they had three children, James Franklin McEntire date of birth unknown, but around 1834 ish? Joshua McEntire born abt. 1836 and Rebecca McEntire born abt. 1837.

Sarah "unknown" died abt. 1856 and Jasper married Sarah Ward (born 1830) abt. 1846 and they had 4 more children; Richard, Jasper Daniel II, Lucy and Nancy McEntire.

That's all the information I have on James and Joshua, but I do have further information on Jasper Daniel II's line.

I would like more information on Jasper Daniel I, born 1812 and his parents, and/or brothers. I'm told his father and two brothers came from Ireland (could even be Scotland)?? Where their father had been a tire maker, thus the name McEntire "son of tire maker". I'm told one brother, Jaspers father, went to Georgia, one to Virginia and the other headed further west, possibly even Utah. Stories I've heard from my grandfather, I'm not sure how true they are, and I would like more verification.

Anyone have any information on these three brothers that originally came to the US from Ireland or Scotland? My grandfather said Ireland, but I'm told it is Scotish? So I'm not sure if he has gotten it mistaken over the years. The three brothers according to my father and grandfather changed the spelling and supposed to be responsible for the "McEntire's" (unusal spelling without the "Intyre") and that anyone spelling it that is supposed to be related somewhere down the line.

Thanks, Sharon
