I've met several cousins and descendents of John William McEntyre and Nancy Malissa Hembry. One was kind enough to email a photo of them taken with their son Henry, which I could send to you if you provide email address or email me directly.

The lineage of John McEntyre (Sr.) and his wife Mary/Polly/Sarah is still unknown to me, although I feel certain that one or both was of Native American heritage....have you heard anything about this? Many McEntyres are found in Rutherford Co., NC, but I haven't been able to make a specific connection.

John McEntyre (Sr.) must have died sometime between the 1880 and 1900 census, and I don't know where he's buried. His wife Mary/Polly/Sarah (the names appear variously in the censuses and her maiden name is unknown) is found in Cobb Co. in 1900 living in her granddaughter's household, and she died on March 19, 1902, probably in Cobb Co. She was a member of Hickory Grove Church in rural Kennesaw, and in that cemetery a number of her children and grandchildren are buried...perhaps she's there in an unmarked grave...there are some.
