Thanks for the info. Before your message, I had tentatively identified Jerrel and his first wife, Relena Page, as the parents of Malinda but I needed a second source to confirm, which your info has done. I didn't know the family was in Smith Co. before moving west, so that will help also. It's always exciting to hear from someone that your research is going in the right direction. I'm trying to trace Malinda's trail after 1880, when she was living with James Gimling in Marion Co., AR. In c1890 she had several sons by a man named Bennett and I have their pictures. In her later years she was known as "Grandma Spokane" but I can't find anyone by that name in either Marion or Pope Counties. Again, thanks for your help!
