Thank you for your offer. I have very little information about Absolom McGinnis. i.e. born 5/31/1830 somewhere in Tennessee. Died 09/01/1863 in Camp Nelson, Nicholasville Kentucky. Married Anna Catherine Stokes on 08/13/1848 in Hancock County, Tennessee. Anna was born about 1824 somewhere in North Carolina and died unknown (probably in Kentucky). I do not have any information on Absolom's parents. There is a family story that Absolom hid in a cave to avoid being drafted in the Civil War. He was found and 'enlisted'. Any information you might have on Absolom would be greatly appreciated! I did find some information on the Stokes some time back. I think it was on this web site. There is also a family story that Louisa McGinnis was part Indian. Any truth to that story? If there is anything that I might have that you would be interested in, just let me know. I would be happy to share whatever I have. Thanks for your reply.
