I recently had an inquiry about a Jimmy Ray McEntire who is thought to have lived ca Moore Co., Tenn I suppose in 1800's. There may have been some connection to an Evans family from that area also.
Have you run across this name in your research of the Tenn area?
I am not of the McEntire/McIntire line but do have connections to it. From the research I have received the original brothers were ship builders on the East Coast, came from Scotland. There was a family feud over something and some changed the spelling from "I" to "E" so that folks wouldn't know they were related.
Seems that happened quite frequently way back in the early days.
