The information that I have in my McAninch files list two sisters, daughters of Mary Polly Skidmore Mcaninch and Samuel McAninch, as being married to John S. Harlan. Polly Susannah McAninch, b. Feb 12, 1830, Ky., married John S. Harlan on Jan 11, 1849, Hendricks Co., Ky. After Polly's death, Arminta McAninch, b. Feb 26, 1833, Ky., d. May 22, 1902, married John S. Harlan on Jan 20, 1857, Hendricks Co., Ky. I have no knowledge of an earlier marriage of John to a Polly Skidmore. Could this have been a reference to the mother of the two sisters? Dick
