George D. McAninch, 79, RD2, Box 186, Reynoldsville, died March 8, 2003 at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
Born Nov. 13, 1923, in Rathmel, he was the son of the late Fred and Kathryn Penhall McAninch. He was married to Donna J. Geist, Sept. 3, 1966. she survives.
He served in the US Army during World War II as a Private First Class. He was a retired employee of the Reynoldsville Casket Co. and a former employee of the Cresent Brick Co. in Falls Creek. He was a member of the Reynoldsville First Batist Church.
He also was a member of the John M. Reed Lodge Free and Accepted Masons, the American Legion Post No. 392, Reynoldsville Grange and Patriotic Order sons of America.
He is survived by one son, James A. McAninch of RD2, Reynoldsville; two sisters, Margaret Carney of Norfolk, VA., and Emily McClinsey of Davenport, Fla.; and one granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Agnes Hetrick.
