John McARTHUR, son of Alexander McARTHUR and Susanna CAMPBELL of Caroline (North or South Carolina?), married Mercy WEST, daughter of William WEST and Mercy NUGENT, in Baton Rouge, LA 30 Jul 1809.
Their daughter Susan had married John B. CAIN prior to Sep 27, 1833 when she filed for her share of her father's estate in East Baton Rouge Parish. The only sibling named was William McArthur, any others must not have survived.
Mercy WEST had remarried to David HAWES prior to 23 Apr 1827 when her father's succession was filed. She was still Mercy McARTHUR when her sister's succession was filed in Dec of 1823. So John may have still been living in 1823 but was deceased prior to 1827.
