My ggg-grandmother was Catherine McArthur, b. June 8th, 1785, d. Oct. 7th, 1871, age 86 years. She married Wm. Middleton Jan. 19th, 1804, b. March 25th, 1773 and d. Sept. 25th, 1841, age 68. Catherine was supposed to be related to Gen. McArthur's line. I have previously contacted the McArthur Museum in VA and was told that there were no Catherines in his father's line. I am now going on the assumption that my Catherine was related to the Gen.'s mother. I'm not sure of the time frame, but could my Catherine be a sister to Sarah MacArthur, the general's grandmother.
