Since posting the above, I have learned that Abigail's line goes like this:
Abigail was the 3rd child and second daughter of William and Mercy (Carter) L'Hommedieu
William was the first-born of Henry and Jemima (Spencer) L'Hommedieu
Henry was the second child and second son of John and Mary (Hudson) L'Hommedieu
John was the eighth child and fifth son of Benjamin (the emigrant) and Patience (Sylvester) L'Hommedieu
I'd be happy to share information or references on these families.
