Bill, Thanks for the info. That is why we haven't been able to find Nancy in a Boone Co Cemetery. One thing I noticed is in error. They married in Clark Co, Ky. John and Nancy were Guardians in Clark Co for the children of a Cousin--Agnes La Force Mahan after John Mahan died and Agnes remarried to John Clarkson. They continued their guardianship from MO. The children, one of which m. a Clarkson, later moved to MO. The Rene La Force, brother-in-law to the Robinsons, was Renald Rene La Force, III at that time married to Mary Gillaspie. His first wife Agnes Anne Robinson, sister to David and William Robinson had died--probably prior to their coming to KY from Botetourt Co, VA. Rene b. 1754 and the grandfather of Nancy----Robert William La Force b. 1756 were brothers, as was my ancestor, Mount Moncier La Force b. 1768. Their father Renald Rene La Force, JR m. Agnes Moseby. They lived in Goochland Co, Va until the Revolution when they were persecuted because they were Tories. They sold out and moved to Botetourt Co. Rene was accidentally shot by one of his own sons. Agnes and some of the children moved to Martin Station, KY where they were captured by the British and taken to Canada. They were held as Prisoners of War for two years. After their release some of the children moved back to KY but had lost their land they had previous to capture. I believe Robert William La Force to have been killed during Revolution in Scott Co, VA ca 1780. There is no way to document this but oral history of a branch of the La Force family has him in Militia at Blackmore's Fort on the Clinch River in that timeframe. There are still lots of Coleman's living in Scott Co, VA. Notify Administrator about this message?
