Hi Laurie,
It would be interesting to find out more about the plaque, but I couldn't help there.
Pierre Labbe was baptised in that church 30 June,1643.
When he became a soldier, he was member of 1 of 4 companies sent to Canada in 1665. That being 'Company of Francois de Montiel'.
He married a widow, Catherine Besnard. But within 3 months she passed away- leaving two children from first marriage. He remarried 10 April, 1674 to Marguerite Muenier. They had 13 children (six died early in age). Pierre was buried 4 January, 1709 at St. Francois
