Am looking for any information on Joseph or Jose de LaBaume, bc. 1731, Province of Avignon, France; d. 1834, TX, poss. Austin or Nacogdoches Co, TX
He was in the American Revolutionary War, then settled in Louisiana, where he married his first wife, Dame Ana Marie LeKentric on 26 Feb 1778, Post of Opellousas, LA. She died the following year.
He married Maria Luisa Courtiere, of New Orleans, La, in Nacogdoches Co, TX, c. 1804. She had a son by a previous marriage, Valerio, who was raised by Joseph.
Maria Luisa and Joseph had the following children, all born in Nacogdoches Co, TX:
Victorina, b.c, 1805; Joseph, bc. 1806; Sancir Pedro, bc. 1809, and Gertrudis, bc. 1811.
Joseph de LaBaume applied for Land in Austin Co, TX, on 21 Dec 1832, from Stephen F. Austin. At that time, he stated that he was 101 years old, and his wife was 50 years old.
Would appreciate any help on this family. Thanks. Sharon
