Hi Al, I was just in Portland last week, and got some info that may help you. My mom was a LaBarre. Her sibs are Carolyn (LaBarre) Milheim, Marlene (LaBarre) Hillyerd, Darryl LaBarre, and Alvin "Butch" LaBarre Jr. Their parents were Alvin "Whitey" LaBarre Sr. and Evlyn (Ferh) LaBarre. Died 1993 and 1995 respectively. Alvin's sibs were Earl "Bill" LaBarre, Orvil LaBarre, Floyd LaBarre, Bertha LaBarre, Walter LaBarre, Elwood "Buddy" LaBarre, Hilda LaBarre, Ida LaBarre, Ester LaBarre , Ella LaBarre, Ethel LaBarre, Ruth LaBarre, and Stanley LaBarre. Their parents were John and Stella LaBarre. This is as far back as I know. If you have more info, please let me know. I do know there were three brothers who settled in east PA from France, after the king changed the name to LaBarre meaning "Bravery"
