I also have one other question I hope you could, or anyone else, help me with. My John Baptist LaBarge married Sophie, but we're having a little trouble with her last name. Her first marriage was in 1855 to a Lucian(what a coincidance) Potter and her last name was listed as Lemro, but when she married J.B. her parents were listed as Sophia Lapie and _____Meshell. Then on the 2 birth certificates that we found, her last name was listed as Michal, and Mitchell. When the french pronounced Mitchell, could it sound like Meshell, or Michal? And she was listed as being 1/2 Indian, Are there many Indians around Maskinonge, QC?
