Schoonover, Sylvester L., of Pike Co. is the great-great-grandson of Nicholas Schoonver. He is the born April 8, 1865, s/o Ezekiel R. and Hannah D. (Heller) Schoonover.
Ezekel and Barbara (Garris) Schoonever, great-grandparents. Children; Ira, Leonard, Hannah, w/o Ira Walter, Jonathan, married Mary Posten and 2nd to Mary A. Staples
Ira Schoonover, born in Lehman twp, married Sarah Ladle. Children; Chauncey D. lived in Stroudsburg, married Maria Dickerson. Catharine, w/o Charles Kinny, of Monroe Co., Austin of E. Stroudsburg, married Lizzie "Fellenger". The father died in May 1885 age 73. The mother in March 1862.
Ezekil R. Schoonever, married Oct 18, 1862 to Hannah Heller, who is also a native of Lehman, was born Jan 23, 1837, d/o John D. and Catharine (LaBar) Heller.
Hallet, Charles, of Middle Smithfield, Monroe Co, was born in Northampton (Mt. Bethel) Sept 1830, s/o William and Elizabeth (LaBar) Hallet, the latter a d/o Joseph and Margaret Labar.
VanVliet, Derick, was born Dec 11, 1776. He married Rachel Smiley, who was born Dec 19, 1779. Children; Mariam, 1799, Amanda, 1801, Ann, 1804, Charick, 1806, John S., 1808, Rebecca, 1811, Richard 1813 and Elisabeth, 1816
John S. was born near East Stroudsburg. He married Susan LaBar, who was born Feb 27, 1807. Mrs. VanVliet died in 1861. Children; 1. Franklin, 2. Evaline, w/o Jacob Philip, 3. Emily w/o Alexander Loder, 4. David married maneda Allenberger, 5 Abram. 6. Rachel. 7. Samerfield married Emily Shafer. 8. Edmund married Maggie Beecher of Wayne Co
Franklin was born Aug 10, 1830, married July, 1854 to Anna Kinney. Children; 1. Martha married Hiram Transue. Erastus married Frances Dean of Barrett twp. 3. Ella G., 1858, married David Bush. 4. Susannah 1862, married Joseph Pencil. 5. Frank Oscar, single, 6. Oras, married Emma Schaffer. 7. Maggie B> married Frank Barry, 8.Sherman, single.
Mrs. Anna (Kinney) VanVliet a d/o Moses Kinney, a native of NJ, moved to Stroud, Monroe Co., he married Sallie LaBar. Children; James, Peter, William, Joseph, Maria, w/o Philip Neihart, Jane, w/o Abraham Bush, Maggie, married George Anderson, Anna married VanVliet.
