The Straub family have been natives of Carbon county. Grandfather David Straub had been a life-long resident of Towamensing twp,and died there in 1877, age 79. He mmarried Mary Olewine. John Boyer, maternal grandfather of Dr. David W. Straub (subject), was a native of Northampton Co. died in Carbon Co about 1869, age 93. he had 4 sons and 4 daughters.
Levi Straub, was born in Lower Towamensing twp. Carbon Co. and he married Leah Boyer. Children; DAvid, subject, Anna Buck and Elmer a physician at Minersville, Schuylkill Co
Dr. David married Laura LeBar, d/o Jesses and Pamelia LeBar, of Slatington, Lehigh Co. Children, Mabel L., C.Lee, Homer W., and Violet L.
