Suject, Edmund V. LaBar, of Middle Smithfield, was born June, 1858, s/o David and Sallie (Staples).
George LaBar, grandfather, a native of Northampton came to Monroe Co. He lived to a great age, 112 years, dying in 1874. He was the father of 8 children; John, Hugh, David, Mary w/o Jacob Transue of Monroe Co., Julia, w/o William Kramer, Susan, w/o John Vanvliet, of Stroud, and Catharine, w/o Henry Cook
Daniel LaBar, born Aug 1810 in Northampton Co, he died Sept 21, 1897, his wf died March, the same year. Children, David, Amanda E., Mary E., Sarah M. and Edmund. Of these, the eldest, married Catharine Halterman, of Smithfield. Children; Adam H., Lewis G., Sarah A., David L., Amanda E. Mary A. and Nelson D.
Amanda E.,was the wf of Depuy Detrick and lived in Price, Stroud Twp and she left 4 children (Flora F., w/o Charles Lander, David L., Alice and Susan). Mary E. is the widow of Benjamin F. Transue and had children (Syliva, Peter and Alice). Sarah M. w/o John Trible and they had children (Harry, Charles, Sylvanus and Amanda).
Edmund V. married in 1880 to Annie Rheinhart of Price twp., d/o Peter, a native of Germany, came to this country and married Mary Pipher. Mr. and Mrs. LaBar had children, Chester, P. 1880, Ira A., 1883 and Norman E. 1884
Edinger, Joseph, was born 1825, in Kemmerer Town, Hamilton Twp., and in 1847 he married Catharine Mosteller. Children; 1. Mary E., born 1848, married Samuel Brewer of South Bethlehem and two sons in died in childhood. 2. William, born in Hamilton twp, he married Anna Boorem of Paradise and had children (Grace, Hilda, Stanley and Vergie. 3/ Charles E., born 1852 and was killed Oct, 1896 on the railroad at E. Stroudsburg. He married Alvina Williams, children, Floyd who married Lotta LaBar, of Water Gap, Anzie, Kate and Lena. 4. Joseph Jr. born in Hamilton twp, he married Louisa Meyers of Shawnee and had children, Irwin, Mabel and William. 5. Frank born 1858, married Rachel Keller. 6. Abram born 1856. 7. Grant. 8. died in infancy.
Peters, Van Camp, subject. Henry Peters, grandfather was born near Phila., Sept 1787 and died March 2, 1857. On Jan 16, 1814 he married Sarah Gunsaules. Children; ELisabeth 1814-1858, Elsie 1817-1871, widow of Henry LaBar, Delin 1819-1871 married Henry S. Mot, Charles R., Maria , Catharine Eilenberger and Samuel
Van Vliet, Derick, s/o Charrick, he married Rachel Staples, d/o John. Children; Marion, married a Mr. Bowman of Wayne Co., Amanda widow of Rufus Bennett, who died in Wayne Co, Anna w/o John Randsburry of Strou, Rebecca married John VanVliet of Stroud, Elisabeth maried Major Berry and moved to Kansas, John married Susan LaBar of Strou, Richard married Jane Griffin.
