LAVAE E. HILFERS, 83, of Worthington, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, at Crossroads Care Center, Worthington.
Born Sept. 6, 1923, in Fairmont, she was the daughter of Otto and Selma Borchardt Laabs. She married Paul Hilfers on Jan. 4, 1944, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington.
She attended school in Fairmont. After marriage, they lived in Worthington. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington, where she had taught Sunday school.
Surviving are her husband; four children, Paulette (David) Yates, Worthington, Jackie (William) Reum, Worthington, Daryl (Rebecca) Hilfers, Worthington, and Kevin (Roxanne) Hilfers, Waconia; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Home, Worthington, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Robert Schulze officiating. Burial will be in Hersey Cemetery, Brewster.
