Isaac Foust Kivett was born in Randolph County, Troy's store, North Carolina on 19 Dec 1848. His father owned many acres of land and slaves.He was to young to fight in the Civil war. He came west at age 21 and worked for the Government. He helped survay Oklahoma to make it aterritory. There were many scrimages with the Indians. He married Eudora Ellison Berry 19 Dec 1880.( Eudora was born in Macon Co, Missouri) They lived mainly in Kansas until 1910, when they went toNebraska and Homsteaded land in the Sand Hills near Hyannis. Later they moved near Cheyenne Wells, Colorado and this is where they were livingat his death. ( the above author unknown) but it is fairly accurate D madison Bass Actually his part in the survay was Kansas, Where he took a homestead in Logan county.The fist six Children were born in Kansas, the last two were born near Harrisonville, Mo. After the birth of John, "Dora" wasn't in good health and they returned to family in the Harrisonville area of North west Missouri. When she had regained her health they returned to kansas and lived there until they took claims in Nebraska. Isaac F. Kivett was my grandfather...He spent his last years in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado and died in Denver from Brights disease. Both he and Dora, who died in an accident in Idaho are both buried in Denver.
