You can rest assured that the Leander Kivett you mentioned was a son of John Gilliam Kivett by Rosannah his wife, because he is mentioned in the loose estate records of J.G. Kivett housed at N.C. Archives in Raleigh as such. John Gilliam (who was a distiller) and Rosannah are buried in an old abandoned cemetery in Randolph Co.--Old Shady Grove--and theirs are two of the few remaining legible gravestones in a massive plot--also the grave of Zimri Kivett is there and legible. Evidence also suggests that John Gilliam was involved in goldmining and invested in cotton mills. He was quite an entrepreneur. I am descended from his daughter Louisa Kivett, who married Riley Williams, a brother to Leander's first wife. They were children of Jacob Williams by his wife Margaret Lax of Little River.
