King Philip's War Forum

Pierce's fight was led by Captain Michael Pierce, killed that day with 65 of the 83 troops he was with. They were apparently ambushed when chasing after several Indians they thought were wounded.
As Capt Pierce appears 12 generations back in my direct line on my paternal grandmother's side, I was glad to read the thorough account of the events presented in "King Philip's War: The History and Legacy of America's Forgotten Conflict" by Eric B. Schultz and Michael J Tougias (The Countryman Press, 1999). Though to be honest I can't say the book overall was interesting, it is a very thorough account of what happened way back then and what remnants of it you can still see today. And, if you are interested in King Philip's War, how many other modern, authoritative books on the subject are available?
Happy reading, if you so choose!
