Neddy Jacobs is credited with being the first settler of Wilson County, Tenn. A history of the county was published about 1975 as part of series on Tenn. counties and contains a biographical sketch of Neddy. A descendent claims he had intermarried with Lumbee Indians after being shipwrecked on the NC coast in the 18th C. Please verify this as I write from memory.
