Hi Sally,
My Jacobers actually didn't come to the US. My latest one was Anna Maria Jacober who married Wilhelm Friedrich Schweizer in Ulm. Her daughter, Helene came as a young lady to America (quite a trip for a single woman to make) and married over here. She came into New York City in the late 1880s and married there in 1891 and she and her new husband, Friedrich Zott, settled in Carlstadt, New Jersey. I think she may have had relatives over here and went to them intially.
