Kenneth Leon JACKSON

I'm hoping to find anyone with information on or military items belonging to my uncle, Kenneth Leon JACKSON, 1921 - 15 Jun 1944, who was a WWII Navy Aviation Radioman 2nd Class. Kenneth's plane was a SB2C-1C in squadron VB-15 on the USS Essex and it did not return from it's mission - a bombing run over Iwo Jima on 15 Jun 1944. Prior to the Essex Kenneth was on the USS Hornet.

Recently, Kenneth L JACKSON'S Good Conduct Medal was returned to his son (born a month after his father's death) by a veteran & good samaritan who had purchased it at a flea market (possibly Canton, TX) about 1980. The family was unaware this medal existed & hopes there are other items "out there" possibly in the East Texas area.

Thanks - we appreciate any leads,
Kim Marion
