Hi Allison,
I am interested in your YAKEL/JACKEL story. I don't know if we've ever talked. My family name used to be JACKEL/JEKEL and changed to YAKEL in NY about 1870 - however, some of my relatives moved to Milwaukee, WI in the 1860's, and they retained the JAEKEL/JEKEL spelling. Please drop a note if you would like to discuss.
