I was interested in this posting to Iames since it ws the only one so far that mentioned Maryland. My father was James McKinley Iames, born 1/22/1927 in Oakland, Maryland. He was the son of McKinley Iames and Wilma Sanders. He grew up in Maryland, married Charlotte Virginia Huffman in 1946 and moved his family to Jacksonville, Florida in 1955.

With so many variations of this name it has been very hard to find information. My father always told me that he was told that Iames may have been changed from Imes or from James.
