Dear Karen, Over the years, I have done extensive research into the Gaby family. Gaby and Gabby could be related but Gabbie is a completely different family and Gable has never entered the race. Other variations on the gaby theme have been Gabey or Gawby but for generations, the spelling Gaby has been firmly fixed. Gabbies tended to come from scotland or occasionally Northern Ireland and Gabey tended to come from Lincolnshire. I hope that this is helpful to you.
