Hi Steve,
I have a number of Irish Gabriels which may or may not be connected to your line.
The d.o.b. for Jane Gabriel quoted in my previous message should read 1823 not 1833. She married (date unknown)Robert Dempsey and had the following children baptised in the Protestant Parish of Ballymodan, Bandon, Co Cork:
Anne Dempsey 1 Jan 1843
Jeremiah Dempsey 13 May 1845 (my GGrandfather)
John Dempsey 9 July 1848
Thomas Dempsey 3 Aug 1851
Matthew Dempsey 14 Jul 1854
There may well be others as yet unknown
I also have an Annie Gabriel who was a witness to the marriage of Robert Dempsey (son of John above) and Kate Blake in 1928. No other details known about Annie.
I have also found the Following Gabriels in "Griffiths Valuation Index (1847-1864)
John Gabriel renting a House and Yard at Warners Lane, Ballymodan, Bandon Co Cork.
Anne Gabriel renting a House and small garden at Warners Lane, Ballymodan, Bandon Co Cork.
I suspect that all of the above Gabriels are related although their precise relationship is at present unknown.
I have also found a large number of Gabriels in the IGI Index (www.familysearch.org). If you haven't already looked there are some in there for Dublin for your approx period.
