I am in the process of researching my granddaughter's line to Clark Gable. Are you aware that Clark Gable's father, William Gable (b. 1870 Pa), married one Jennie Dunlap in 1903 in Ohio? Jennie was not the mother of Clark Gable, but his first wife, Adeline Hershelman (1870-1901 Pa.) was.
Since Clark Gable was born in Ohio (1901), it may be possible that Wm and his second wife Jennie had a son named William, the William you are looking for. I found an interesting site which gives a great tree for Clark Gable, at www.cyndislist.com/famous. She has a site of famous people and has done great research. Good Luck. Shelley
