My grandfather Genereux or Genereuse Grouhand arrived in New Zealand around 1870. His parents Andre and Anne nee Moyon lived in Montoir le Bretagne. I have found a marriage record listed on www.notrefamille.com but have been unable to access this online as I cannot understand French so could not register! This marriage took place in above commune. I have not had any luck trying for a birth certificate at Archives in Nantes.
Are there any Grouhands out there or anyone else who can help. There is only 35 persons with this name in France according to the above website and they are all living in or around the Montoir le Bretagne or St. Nazaire area.
Would love and deeply appreciate some assistance.
