I'm searching for my family oringins and would appreciate any information about when and who were the first Freyres to arrive to Cuba and from where. I know the surname possibly originated in France and then was established in Galicia, Spain and in Portugal. My guess is the Cuban branch has ties to Spain rather than Portugal.
