Hi Gretchen:

Rocky Run is apparently a ghost town now; it was abandonned around 1875 and I beleive the parish records ended up in Winsted, MN from what I remember.

From what i was todl it was a French-Canadian establishment. My Lemire ancestors lived there after their arrival from Quebec but then moved on to settle in southern Manitoba in 1877. This was the family of my g-g-g-grandfather Eustache Lemrie & his wife Zepherine Elemond who were married around June 1866 in Crow River, MN (I don't know if this place still exists either). The remainder of the Lemire family apparently did not follow them, although Zepherine's father and son either followed or led she and her husband up to Manitoba.

I've only gotten very broken up records as to the Lemire generation that lived in Minnesota, and have practically nothing on the Elemond, and was hoping that you might have come across something at some point.

Thanks.
Marcel
