Thank you for such a quick response. I am guessing that Raymond immigrated to the U.S. in about 1871 or 1872. He lived in Los Angeles, California. He married Marie Pedelaborde on October 27, 1874 in Los Angeles, California. She was also born in France in about 1852. They had 3 children here and she died giving birth to the last one on February 27, 1880. On their marriage certificate it tells that her family was from Canton Dolomia Asape? I am wondering if it should be Asasp? Like I said before, the writing is very difficult to read.
Marie had a brother named Jean Baptiste Pedelaborde. In my searching I have found a Jean Pedelaborde who was born in 1856 in France and came to through Ellis Island in 1871.
About 5 years after she died, Raymond returned to France with the children and lived there until he died in about 1891. I have always heard that he was from somewhere near Pau but am not sure about that.
Jackie
