There are records for Clermont-l'Herault on the LDS, but only catholic church records: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=localitydetails&subject=93906&subject_disp=France%2C+H%C3%A9rault%2C+Clermont%2Dl%27H%C3%A9rault&columns=*,0,0 'Languedoc' isn't a department (although it used to be a province), it's part of what is now the region of Languedoc-Roussillon. Herault is the department, where you'd look for the archives, but their archives don't seem to have a website, this is the address: 2 avenue de Castelnau CS 54495 34093 Montpellier Cedex 5 Tél. : 04.67.14.82.14 Horaires : Lu.-Ve. 8 h 30 à 18 h. Fermeture Annuelle : 1ère quinzaine d'août I'm not sure what their policies would be about doing research - at any rate it might be easier to start with the Wijk en Aalburg records and work back, in case you find that Barthelemy Combes of Clermont l'Herault is just a red herring!
