Robert L. Fabian was born in 1852 in Germany. He was brought to America by his parents while still an infant. He married Sarah Ash on 10-11-1873 in Austin County, Texas. They are known to have had one daughter, and may have had other children. The daughter, Surmantha Colonia, was born on 8-12-1874 in Austin County, Texas.
