In my family, Jonathan Fabian married into a family who had many members first settling upon immigration to the US in Charleston. One line came as Huguenots from Seine-Maritime, France, and another line to establish a religious community which was to become the Congregational Church in Midway, GA.
(Jonathan Fabian m. Esther Dean Ladson 30Jan 1794 at the Congregational Church in Midway. I know that he was in Charleston, I just haven't found good documentation.) You might also check-out St James Parish, Goose Creek, S.C. It is on my list to-do next.

I haven't yet found my Fabian's origins, either, but there was such a close linkage within both of these groups that I keep thinking my Fabian line will reappear one day. One clue is that decades later, friends and family members of both of these groups were still appearing together (and marrying) in locations in GA and TX.

I hope this helps a bit. When I found the Huguenot connection, I zoomed back two entire centuries in France. I am, however, hopelessly stuck with the Irish and English lines. If there is any relevance here for you, I will send all details.
