I have a reference that John Lane Dabney born 1816 in South Carolina, son of John L and Mary Pauline Hoot, possibly had a brother Martin Dabney who was a witness to a will in Alabama. John L, wife and grown children emigrated to Dallas co Alabama around 1820-30's. John L. supposedly died in Dallas Co. Alabama after 1825. Son John Lane Dabney emigrated to San Jacinto Co TX in 1851. I do not have any other information on Martin Dabney. But maybe this will help some.
