Hi Lawrence
Thanks for pointing out the difference between the 5th Dragoons and the 5th Dragoon Guards, it was something I was not aware of, I thought they were the one and the same. If the regiment was reformed in 1858 and George bought himself out a year later in 1859 would he be allowed to do that or did they have to serve a nominal period?. Any idea where the regiment was in that year if they were not in the Crimea?
